About the event
BATS (Bringing Awareness To Students) is hosting a 48-hour film festival in partnership with The State Theater.
How it works:
Participants will work in teams of 2-4, to create a PG-13 short film that is between 1 and 7 minutes. On March 1st, teams will pick up a Mystery Box from the State Theater in which all included items must be a part of the film. The film will be created on March 2nd and 3rd, and be uploaded to the Google Drive folder on the 3rd by 12:00 PM. On the 4th, all created films will be premiered at The State Theater during a special red carpet event.
Important dates and times:
- March 1st from 4:00-6:00 PM: Mystery Box Pickup (at The State Theater) - March 2nd and 3rd: Film Creation Days - March 3rd by 12:00 PM: Submission to the Google folder - March 4th from 6:00-9:00 PM: Red Carpet Film Premieres (at The State Theater)
Rules: - Participants must be in the 6th-12th grade - Between 2-4 participants per team - At least 1 team member must pick up the Mystery Box on March 1st - All items in the Mystery Box must be included in the Film - Films should be 1-7 minutes long - Film content should be PG-13 - Films have to be submitted to the Google folder by noon on Mar. 3rd - All members of the team must be present for the premiere of the films at The State Theater
Awards: - Every team will walk away with a prize - Over $1,000 in prizes will be awarded - There will be a people's choice award, so be sure to invite friends and family to the Red Carpet event - Participants are eligible to earn up to 6 service hours
