The State Theater Bartender

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused bartender to prepare drinks and serve guests at The State Theater as an artistic event space and wedding venue. As a bartender, you will provide excellent customer service by maintaining a clean theater experience while promptly serving beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to guests during shows, intermissions, events and weddings.

 

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet theater, event and wedding guests and take beverage orders and tabs

• Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customers' requests

• Bake individual pre-frozen pizzas on a timer, cut and serve them to guests

• Maintain fully stocked bar throughout shifts and events

• Perform opening and closing duties such as setting up supplies, restocking, cleaning theater space and breaking down bar

• Operate POS system for tab payments and tip processing

• Check identification and safely monitor alcohol consumption of guests to identify overconsumption

• Maintain clean, sanitary theater seating areas, bar areas and equipment

• Comply with all liquor control, health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Must be 21+

• 1+ years experience in food service or bartending in high volume settings

• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktail recipes

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and work quickly in fast-paced environment

• Comfortable using POS and inventory management systems

• Able to lift 40 lbs., bend, stand for 8-10 hour shifts

• Willing to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
